FINALLY A VICTORY!

Finally, a victory. After 13 straight defeats, the Dolphins finally found the right formula to avoid the unthinkable, an 0-16 season. A 64-yard touchdown pass from Cleo Lemon to Greg Camarillo in overtime was enough to help overcome a 13-3 halftime deficit and the Dolphins helped celebrate the 35-year anniversary of the 1972 Perfect Team. There were hugs everywhere as Lemon made the key throws down the stretch and the Ravens helped by missing a field goal and not going for the win on fourth down from a half yard out in the final seconds. Next up: The imposing Patriots on the road.

DOLPHINS 22, RAVENS 16 (OT)
DOLPHINS RECORD: 1-13 • LAST SEASON: 6-8

STORYLINE: With the 1972 Dolphins on hand to be honored, this year’s team finally found a way to win for the first time since Dec. 10 of last year, although it looked a couple of time like loss No. 14 was inevitable.

TURNING POINT: Matt Stover is one of the most consistent kickers in the NFL, but he badly hooked a 44-yard field goal attempt in overtime to give the Dolphins another chance.

IT WAS OVER WHEN … Greg Camarillo got a step on Baltimore defensive back Jamaine Winborne after catching Cleo Lemon’s pass around the Ravens 48-yard line.
STAT THAT STANDS OUT: Lemon finished with 315 yards passing after having only 56 at halftime.

COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF
Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots • Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Mass. • Sun, Dec. 23, 4:15 p.m.
• CBS ABOUT THE PATRIOTS

OVERVIEW:
The Patriots’ quest for a perfect season has been perhaps the biggest story in the NFL this year, and the “Spygate” incident wasn’t far behind. All of New England’s offseason moves worked out, making an already good team that much better.

WORTH NOTING:
This is the sixth time in the last eight seasons the teams meet at Foxborough in December or January.

COUNTDOWN TO KICKOFF
Miami Dolphins vs. Cincinnati Bengals • Dolphin Stadium, Miami, Fla..
• Sun, Dec. 30, 1:00 p.m.* • CBS

ABOUT THE BENGALS
OVERVIEW:

There aren’t many teams in the NFL as dysfunctional as the Bengals, and that’s a big reason they’ll miss the playoffs for the 16th time in the last 17 seasons. This isn’t a team without talent, but off-the- field issues more often than not wind up derailing their season.

WORTH NOTING:
This will be only the teams’ third meeting since 1995
